Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) is a requirement of PSD2, which asks businesses to use at least two authentication elements to verify electronic payments. The point of this is to reduce fraud and make online payments more secure for you.
Stripe have created a handy video explaining what this all means in processing terms:
This is due to come in to effect worldwide in March 2022 (having been delayed more than once!) It is currently affecting some users where their customers issuing banks are insisting on further security.
If you are using Stripe as your Payment Method, your customers will see the new hosted form that looks like this when they go to pay. (currency will show as per your Inn Style account set up, this € is for demonstration only)
If you are using Inn Charge as your Payment Method, this is handled with their hosted form.
As these changes are about security of card details. The most secure way to get these is not over the phone but by making the reservation first, SAVE it, and then send them a PAYMENT REQUEST LINK from within the Reservation itself. Just click on the green TO PAY button in the top right hand corner of the reservation and you will see the screen below
Further information on SCA and INN CHARGE as a payment gateway can be found in the Inn Style Blog HERE
