What is Google Analytics?

Google Analytics is a free tool from Google. It allows you to add a small snippet of code to your website, to track who's visiting your site, which pages they're clicking on, and (most importantly) who decides to book!

How does it work with Inn Style?

Once you've setup a Google Analytics account, if you are setting up a new account we recommend you select V4, tell us your account number and we can help you track when your website visitors become guests.

Getting setup with conversion tracking

Once you've setup a Google Analytics account, you need to add your UA code and website domain to Inn Style.

To do this go to Account > Website Integration

If your Website embeds the Inn Style Calendar

If you use our embedded calendar, you will need to add the GA tracking ID to ensure correct tracking data.

So your code you embed will look something like this.

If you website links to Inn Style

If your users navigate via a form on your site to the Inn Style booking process, you will need to add the following to your analytics code.

Cross domain analytics tracking

Inn style uses the linker functionality in functionality in Google Analytics. We highly recommend you read the linker documentation here.

You should then be able to log into your Analytics account and see visitors arriving to your website and clicking through to Inn Style's booking process.

Conversion Tracking
Once you have this all set up, everytime a guest completes a reservation on Inn Style we send a goal completion to Google Analytics.

Go to Conversions > Ecommerce > Transactions

In here you will see Transaction ID which is our Reservation ID, Revenue and the Source of the booking.

Goals

If you'd like to set up your own goals, then you will need to also set up a Custom confirmation Redirect url which diverts the customer back to your website once the booking is confirmed. See how to set this up here.

Congratulations!

Now you can track where the booker came from (like Search, Facebook, Email, Twitter, Direct) โ€“ and their journey through your website and booking process!

PLEASE NOTE - You MUST be signed out of your Inn Style account when making a test booking, you should only do this from your actual website.
