Optional Extras are a great way to up-sell your accommodation. Offering them at checkout encourages guests to add a little something to their booking.

Here's what Optional Extras look like in the booking process:

Great. How do I set one up?

  • Go to Accommodation at the top of the page and select Optional Extras

  • Click + CREATE A NEW EXTRA

  • Give your extra a name

  • Select a category for your extra

  • Add a price and how you would like to charge (specify if this is a per night, per unit or per stay charge)

  • Specify how many guests can buy per booking

  • Select the bookables (rooms/units) with which the extra can be bought

  • Add a photo to help upsell this extra

  • Click Create this Extra and Exit

What if my extras are compulsory?

For cleaning fees, booking fees, or any other non-optional extra, you'll need to use Compulsory Extras. They are like an Optional Extra - but will be automatically added to the guests 'cart' - so Ideal for a cleaning fee for example

We have upgraded our Optional Extras and given you the ability to create Categories! This means you can now show in groups to make it easier for you to manage and easier for your guests to choose what they need

And this is how it would show for your guest;

If the Optional Extra is no longer in use you can make it "Inactive". Just click Edit next to the Optional Extra and change the Status

With these handy new features being added we have also improved how you can track these in our new Fulfilment Report, this will allow you to see the optional extras sold on the day they are required;

To run this report you can go to Insights > CSV Reports > New CSV Report

If you apply a damage/security deposit these can be set up in Accommodation > Security Deposits.
