Now your guests are able to purchase Booking Protection after booking!

To set this up on your account:

Go to Extensions > Booking Protection > Settings and tick the box Allow Purchase Post Booking

Then go to Account > Guest Experience > Here you will see a box called Guest Login (this is enabled by default). This allows your guests to login and manage their reservation.

NB You cannot use Manage reservation link if Guest login is disabled.

How can a guest add Booking Protection to their existing booking?

1. Manage Reservation link:

This link can be manually send by you as the Property Owner, by calling up the reservation and click on "Send Manage Reservation link"
Or it can be added as a Magic tag {{manage_reservation_link}} in your Customised emails.

The guest then follows the link received in the email and click on Manage My Reservation. They will see the option to Upgrade to a refundable Booking.

To add Booking Protection, click on the "Add Booking Protection" button, tick the box "Protect booking for" and click "Pay for Selected Booking Protection"

2. Booking Protection Link:

In the same way as the Manage Reservation link, this can be manually send by you as the Property Owner, or added as a Magic tag {{booking_protection_link}} in your Customised email.

What if guests have an outstanding balance on their reservation, can they still add Booking Protection?

Yes they can, but they will have to make full payment after they've added Booking Protection.

Important to note:

  1. If a reservation is cancelled, you get to keep the cost of the accommodation and only refund any Optional Extra's or Security Deposits if taken.

  2. Booking Protection cannot be added to a reservation with multiple bookings.

  3. If your guest has only paid a deposit at the time of booking / have not made any payment on their existing booking and they choose to take out Booking Protection, the full outstanding amount will be requested from them.

  4. XCover’s terms are accepted by guests when adding booking protection and effectively supersede your own Terms and Conditions as full payment is taken.
