With the implementation of SCA (Strong Customer Authentication) you should no longer take the guests card details over the phone and store them within the reservation directly as you could before. But send a payment request email instead.
You can now create a payment request link and send it via email, either directly to the bookers email address or if no email address is stored we give you the option to add one when you create the link.
Once you are in a guests reservation , click on Take Payment button in the top right hand corner of the reservation or the Request Payment Button further down the screen.
Note: You will only be able to request payment from the top right hand corner button if no cards have been previously stored. You can still use the Request Payment button further down to request additional payments.
WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND ANY PAYMENT REQUEST LINKS ARE SENT WITH A MONETARY VALUE OVER £30 REQUESTED. IF YOU SIMPLY REQUEST 'STORE CARD DETAILS ONLY' THESE MAY NOT WORK AT CHECKOUT AS THE CARD ISSUER MAY DECLINE THE NEW PAYMENT REQUEST.
Once you've pressed send email, the generic email which gets sent looks like this.
You can also customise your own email by going to Account > Customised Emails. the email you need to set up is the Payment Request email.
Once the payment request has been paid, the guest will receive a receipt, you will receive confirmation they have paid via a notification in your account and also by email.
