There are two main options for taking payments through Inn Style.

Each method has its pros and cons, depending on your type of business. Here's a brief explanation of each one so you can decide what works best for you.

Stripe

Stripe is great if you:

  • don’t currently have a way of collecting payments

  • want to get rid of your merchant terminal

  • want to avoid entering a minimum contract period

  • want an easy way to be PCI compliant

What's possible with Stripe?

  • Charging guests that book online

  • Charging guests in your admin area

  • Re-charging cards used to pay a deposit

  • Sending payment requests to guests

  • Synchronising card details with Booking.com

  • Storing card details for later use

How much does Stripe cost?

  • The Payment Gateway fee is £10 + Vat per month and 0.3% transaction fees

  • You’ll pay 1.5% + 20p on European debit and credit cards*

  • You’ll pay 2.5% + 20p on non-European debit and credit cards*

  • These sums will be deducted by Stripe before they pay money into your account

*Transaction fees vary depending on the country you sign up from. For detailed rate information, please see Stripe's website.

How do I get started?

  • Go to Account at the top of your Inn Style account

  • Select Payment Methods on the left hand side

  • Click the Stripe logo

  • Click Connect to Stripe

  • Fill out the form that appears, find out more information here on setting up a Stripe account if you are an individual or Sole trader and here if you are a company.

Inn Charge

Inn Charge is great if you:

  • are based in the UK

  • have an existing, competitive merchant agreement

  • like the idea of using a physical chip and pin machine alongside Inn Style

  • want a new, competitive merchant agreement

  • would prefer not to use Stripe

What's possible with Inn Charge?

  • Charging guests that book online

  • Charging guests in your admin area

  • Re-charging cards used to pay a deposit

  • Sending payment requests to guests

  • Synchronising card details with Booking.com

  • Storing card details for later use

How much will Inn Charge cost?

  • The Payment Gateway fee monthly for Inn Charge is £25 + Vat and 0.5% transaction fees

  • You'll pay your existing merchant rates as normal

How do I get started?

  • Go to Account on the top menu

  • Click Payment Methods on the left hand side

  • Hit the Inn Charge logo and then click Apply Now

  • Fill out the online form and wait to be approved. Please note this can take up to seven working days

One other option that may be useful is PayPal

PayPal - Express Checkout

PayPal is great if you:

  • live in a country where Stripe isn’t available

  • don’t have a merchant terminal

  • would prefer not to use Stripe

  • already use Stripe and/or InnCharge, but want to offer guests another payment option at checkout

What is possible with Paypal?

  • Charging guests booking online - This is the ONLY functionality

What is Not Possible?

  • We are not able to store card details within the reservation.

  • You can NOT refund the customer through the reservation, you would need to login separately to PayPal to do this

  • You may not be able to charge for NO SHOWS or Cancellations outside of your terms and conditions using PayPal.

How much will PayPal cost?

  • You'll pay a fee on top of this, dependent on your revenue. (For small businesses this is 3.4% + 20p)

  • The Monthly Payment Gateway fee is £25 + Vat and 0.5% transaction fees

How do I get started?

  • Go to Account at the top of the page

  • Select Payment Methods on the left hand side

  • Click the PayPal logo

  • Click Link PayPal

  • Login/Sign up in the new window
